Leadership
Board of Directors
Democratic governance is a hallmark of the cooperative business model. Every Member-owner has a voice in how the cooperative is operated and influences this process through voting at the annual meeting. All Member-owners are asked to participate in the co-op’s annual meeting, held each October, to elect members of the board of directors and vote on important policy issues.
The nine members of Carroll EMC’s board of directors are volunteers who are elected by the membership to shape policies that serve the best interest of the cooperative and its Member-owners. Each board member is a Carroll EMC Member-owner and represents a specific district within Carroll EMC’s service territory. The board of directors govern in accordance with the association’s bylaws, and those bylaws contain exact details about director qualifications and the nomination/election process.
