Carroll Electric Membership Cooperative (EMC) announces the promotion of Kelly Jimenez as Communications Director. Transitioning from her role as Communications and Corporate Events Coordinator, Jimenez will supervise the cooperative’s Communications Department and provide direction for future internal and external communications in her new role.
“Kelly has served as a marketing, communications and public relations expert for more than a decade for the cooperative,” said Jay Gill, Senior Vice President of Member and External Relations. “It will be exciting to see where she takes this department in the future as well as her expanded influence with national trade organizations for communicators.”
Jimenez began her career at Carroll EMC as a student employee in 2009 after graduating from Berry College with a bachelor’s degree in management. Since then, she has served as Communications Specialist and Communications & Corporate Events Coordinator while earning her Certified Cooperative Communicator designation from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and her Master Cooperative Communicator designation from the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA). Jimenez has been named Brand Champion for Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and has been selected as the Michael Graznak award recipient for CCA, both demonstrations of her commitment to cooperative communication.
Additionally, Jimenez has served on the Georgia Magazine Advisory Board and sat on the planning committees for the Georgia Marketing, Member Services and Communicators Association and the CCA Institute. Currently, she serves on the CCA board.
