Before applying for service
A soft credit/identity check will be performed on all applicants. A copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo ID, proof of ownership or lease and social security number is required for service to be connected. Please also have the address where service is to be connected. Any past due amounts to Carroll EMC must be paid in full before new service can be established. If you’ve never had service with us before, you may be required to apply in person at one of our offices.
What documents and information do I need to get started with service?

What documentation can I provide as proof of ownership?
- Tax records
- Deed
- Closing disclosure (available before closing)
- Settlement statement (available before closing)
- Mortgage statement
- Proof of homeowners insurance
What documentation can I provide as proof of lease?
A signed lease agreement OR welcome letter should include the following at minimum:
- Date
- Tenant’s name
- Property address
- Landlord’s name
- Tenant’s signature
- Landlord’s signature
After launching the online application, specify on the Type of Request dropdown menu whether you are applying for Traditional Residential, PrePay Residential for Commercial service.
All connect service orders are processed the next business day following completion of the order and fee payment. After your application has been submitted, a Member Services Representative will contact you by email to confirm and complete the order.
New Construction Forms
If your service is for new construction, your System Design Technician will advise you if these forms are required.
