Net Metering

Carroll EMC allows Members to connect their own electric power generation in parallel with Carroll EMC’s system. This includes (but is not limited to) solar, wind, fuel cell, and hydro generators. Carroll EMC will furnish, install, own and maintain a meter that will measure the Cooperative’s supplied usage in addition to the Member’s generated usage to Carroll EMC.

 

Steps to Sign Up for Net Metering

  1. Submit a completed Distributed Generation Interconnection Application along with a $100 application fee 45 days prior to service connection

  2. A representative from Carroll EMC will review the Application and notify the Member of approval within 30 days

  3. Submit a completed Distributed Generation Interconnection Agreement, verification that the generator and disconnection switch is installed, copy of local permit and any applicable fees

  4. Carroll EMC will install meter

  5. Carroll EMC will connect Member’s generator in parallel to system
